Why Did I Get Married

Tyler Perry just wrapped up shooting on  “Why Did I Get Married?” which is starring Janet Jackson, songstress Jill Scott and Sharon Leal ( “Dreamgirls” fame) . According to Perry, the ladies ladies “put it down” -especially Janet.

” Janet Jackson has to be the most professional superstar that I have ever worked with. She was the first one there and the last one to leave–always on time and no drama. …I’ll talk more about the rest of the cast later, but this was the best time that I have had making a movie yet. We’re looking to release it in October of this year. ” Perry reports. He is quick to add that Jackson “absolutely” has the skills to pull off the part convincingly. “I can’t wait for people to see her like this.”

“Why Did I Get Married” will be the big screen adaptation of Perry’s stage play about the trials of marriage, and what happens to one family when a sexy young temptress arrives on the scene. The movie is now scheduled for release in October 2007.

Meet Norbit

Thandie Newton, Cuba Gooding Jr., Eddie Griffin and Terry Crews have all joined the cast of DreamWorks’s Norbit starring Eddie Murphy.

The movie stars Murphy as a meek guy pressed into marrying a monstrous woman (also Murphy), only to meet the woman of his dreams (Newton). Gooding will play Newton’s boyfriend, Griffin will play a retired pimp and Crews will star as one of Norbit’s in-laws.
